We were actually heading to another pizza place up the street, but the wait was an hour, so we tried G's Pizza. Service was adequate. Restuarant is decorated in a tacky Italian/diner motif. Beer selection was limited to the usual lager swill. My wife & I ordered Chianti and the waitress didn't seem to know what that was, but she eventually brought us back two glasses of red wine. It was awful, but we did drink most of it. We ordered pizza and salad. The salad was fresh, but fairly basic. Pizza was pretty good. Traditional, round and baked just right. No soggy crust. If you're just in the mood for some pizza, it's worth checking out.

I have been to various G's in the state. This one was not my favorite. I had spinach dip. It was more like soup with bread. My husband and I both ordered mini pizzas and they were both soggy in the middle. So far the one in Tawas City and Traverse City are my favorites. If I go back to Houghton Lake I will be skipping G's.

Used the carry out lobby, so can't speak to the service inside. The baked subs were great. Made quickly and very tasty. The Italian sub was really good. Service was friendly. Would Definitely try them again.

I really like the pizza. However the ordering and customer service is bad. Called to order a few times and they don't even know their specials or the menu. Their prices are also very high.

We were here on the Sunday before Labor Day, and apparently G's wasn't expecting so many patrons. As a result, service was slooow. However, the waitress was friendly and she hustled our food out as soon as the kitchen put it up. The food itself was tasty. I ordered the turkey wrap. Turkey, tomato, and lettuce were all fresh, as was the wrap. The home-cooked kettle chips were yummy. We didn't order adult beverages with lunch, but they were available: beer, wine, and a fully stocked bar.

The absolute worst food and customer experience. Will not be back! First, they were out of several menu items on a Friday. Second, side salad was served with shredded lettuce. If I wanted shredded lettuce I would have ordered a taco salad. Third, we had to ask for refills on several drinks. Fourth, the food took forever to be served and once it was delivered the fun began. The bruschetta pasta had day old noodles with what appeared to be a questionable cheese sauce. A pork sandwich was served with stale homemade chips which were barely edible to a 3 1/2 year old who loves chips. The kids meals were served with ice cold broccoli which was "steamed". The children's spaghetti noodles were also day old and clumpy. The rest of the meals were ho-hum at best. Not what we expected from a high quality franchise. Save your money. Go somewhere else.

I love simple foods made right. Pizzas, appetizers, burgers, etc. I was up at Houghton Lake for the week and saw a menu for G's in the hotel lobby. As I looked over the menu, it was everything I could want in a restaurant! I ordered takeout (the waitress on the phone was extremely courteous) and waited patiently for the delivery. I ordered a small pepperoni pizza, a Philly steak and cheese sub for the wife, and an order of "Teezers" (potatoes filled with cheese). I expected a delicious meal to end a fun-filled day. I was sorely disappointed. The pizza tasted like a junior high cafeteria lunch. I've had better frozen pizza in my oven. I've had better pizza from a Lunchable box. My wife's Philly cheese steak looked like it was on a burnt poptart instead of a bun. Halfway through, she threw in the towel. The "Teezers" were nothing but a tease, flash frying their way into our stomachs, one nasty, cheap bite at a time. 30 minutes later, I'm still feeling sick. I think the "g" in "G's" stands for "gross"; or maybe it stands for "grotesque". Either one fits. Do yourself a favor, and mark this restaurant on your "Do not try" list.

Good food! Was a bit disappointed when my son's pizza came out on a plastic plate and it was all misshapen at the edges and hard for him to manage. He was hoping for a tray like the other pizzas came out on. Other than that, food was good! It was very warm in the building but after being outside all day it felt good. I wish they had been running the fireplace, that was a nice touch in the dining area.

I used to love Gs when I lived in Houghton Lake. I moved to Portland 5 years ago and when I returned for a visit I went on a recon mission for the BLT pizza. I ordered half without bacon because I am a vegetarian. When I got home it was covered in bacon. I called and talked to Amy the manager, and she offered to give me 10 dollars towards my next purchase. I don't even live here. My pizza was 18 dollars, and I didn't even get to eat any. She gave my the discount with reluctance and became very short with me until she hung up without apologizing or saying goodbye. I realize it was nice of her to give a coupon, but it didn't make up for the bad experience. I came a long way for that pizza!
